Plan Sections

Plan Sections is a tree view for creating and editing plan sections and steps. Plan Steps contains options for sections, steps, and plan order as described below.

Sections

  1. Click Create Plan Section to create the first section of the plan.
Or, right-click a section and select an action.
    • Select Insert Section Below to create a new section below the selected node.
    • Select Edit Item to edit the fields for the existing plan section.
    • Select Delete Item to remove the section from the plan.
    • Select Copy Item to copy the section to a new section. The section and all its steps are copied. The copied section can be modified as desired. The copied section is named after the original section. If the original is Sec1-General, the copy is named Sec1 (1)-General. A second copy would be named Sec1(2)-General and so on.
Or, click an existing section to edit that section.
  2. Enter or edit the ID, display description, and speakable description (what technicians will hear).
  3. Select a condition from the Conditions drop-down menu. The menu lists all conditions available in the VoiceForm referenced by this plan.
  4. Click the Looping checkbox to enable repeating of the section.
  5. If looping has been enabled, type the prompt that will appear at the start of the section. Ensure that the question is phrased in a way that can be answered with Yes or No. For example, "Inspect another rivet?"
Refer to Section Looping below for more information on how the looping process works.
  6. Click OK.

Section Looping

During Plan creation, steps required for inspecting items are added to a section. This section can be flagged as a looping section to enable repeating of the steps as an iteration of the section. New looping iterations are created when an operator selects "Yes" on the looping prompt. On each iteration of the section, all the included steps will be executed. The looping prompt ends when the operator selects "No" at the looping prompt.

  • This feature is available only when using the Android application and VoiceCheck 1.7 or higher.
  • This feature is available only when using the Talkman application and VoiceCheck 1.7.1 or higher.
How does looping work?

As soon as an assignment is created, the first iteration of the looping section is automatically added. Looping sections are indicated with a dash and iteration number next to the section number, for example General Loop-1, Engine Loop-4. This numeric indicator is also how the looping iterations can be distinguished on an assignment report.

As the operator moves through a looping section, new steps are automatically created, even when they are skipped. However, if an operator skips all steps in a section, that section is not created in the system until another iteration is created.

Switching Operators During a Section

New sections will continue to generate until the operator says "No" at the looping prompt or stops the assignment. If an operator logs into an assignment that was stopped by a different operator, the new operator will be prompted through sections that the first operator skipped.

If an operator stops an assignment after completing all the iterations added by the operator, the assignment will no longer show in available for any users.

Resuming an Assignment with Looping Sections

If an operator signs out of an assignment without completing a looping section, the operator will be returned to the first looping section of the assignment when they resume the same assignment.

Steps

  1. Right-click a plan section or plan step and select an action.
    • Select Insert Step Below to create a new step below the selected node.

    • Select Delete Item to remove the step from the plan.

Or, click an existing step to edit that step.

Plan Order

Change the order of sections and steps in the tree view by clicking one node at a time and dragging it to a new location. While moving the node, the mouse symbol displays a red X until the node is in a valid position in the tree. At a valid position, the mouse symbol displays a green check mark.
